Danish born,
Queensland artist Sussanne Morton spent her childhood in the border ranges of Lamington National Park . It was here she came alive with inspiration and developed a deep love for nature and all it had to offer. She took art as her favorite subject all through high school and went on to study Commercial art at Seven Hills College of art in Morningside, 1980. And in 1996, Sussanne undertook further studies in interior design through Tafe.
Sussanne's paintings are a representation of inner feelings, emotions and experiences. From sadness to joy, and confusion to love, these emotions often influence the way in which she works with her paints, often choosing the colours purely according to her mood.
Her inspiration comes from many sources, such as music, fabric patterns and nature, but mostly she is drawn to the remarkable colours, shapes and textures that she finds all around in the natural world.
Sussanne revels in the sense of freedom in the creation of an abstract. There are no limitations as such, and she is not bound to explain each piece. They are open to interpretation and speak to the audience of their own accord. |
