Susan Lhamo has always created artworks since the age of two. It is her great passion and interest.
The landscape and its ever-changing forms inspire Susan Lhamo's work. The marks and shapes she makes are generally abstracted and act as reference points for the eye.
Works can evolve around ideas of form and structure with the emphasis on shape, or work more on marking edges and alluding to an object or form.
Some of her paintings reference the visible world in a more obvious way, such as in the “forest and pod” paintings. Others reflect the movement of water and the ocean.
Susan's works often reflect inner psychological states and responses to the world from her own point of view but also refer to the collective psyche of humanity, whether these are expressions of anger, grief, fear, joy or passion.
