Maree is a self taught artist creating works in acrylic or oil with mixed media on canvas in a style of abstract simplicity.
The source of Maree's artistic inspiration is predominately based on colour, the human form and the pure essence of human interaction. With emphasise on studying and interpreting the differing views of individuals from all walks of life and their diverse backgrounds. This combined with the many options and sometimes limitations people encounter in different stages of life and how these options and/or limitations can be vastly different from individual to individual and the way in which people deal with this and their behaviour and interaction with others as a result.
Maree sees colour as a source of inspiration through the emotions found in colour and the effect colour and tones have on people and can often alter a person's mood or dealings with others.
